Greetings Alberton Panther High School athletes and parents!
Thank you so much to everyone who came to our sports meeting last night! We were thrilled at the turnout and are even more excited about Panthers sports coming back to Alberton! For anyone who was unable to make it, here is a quick overview of what's to come in the next week or so:
JV + Varsity Volleyball will have their first practice tomorrow, Friday, August 12th from 2-4pm in the school gym. Next week (Mon, 8/15-Fri, 8/19) practices will be held from 8-10am and from 12-2pm. The girls should bring along a water bottle, knee pads, light snacks, and appropriate volleyball attire.
High School football will have practices Mon, 8/15-Fri, 8/19 from 4-6pm. Boys should bring along a water bottle and appropriate attire for playing football. Sunscreen is highly recommended as well.
All student-athletes must have their physicals completed before they may practice. Missoula-area walk-in clinics can provide these for students at a low-cost ($25-$35). Any families in need of assistance paying for physicals can contact the Alberton Booster Club at albertonbooster@gmail.com.
Athlete handbooks and physical forms can be obtained at the school office.

The meeting will take place in the school lunchroom (located in the elementary school). This meeting is for parents and all 5th-12th grade students interested in playing football and volleyball.
Homeschooled 5th-12th grade students who have declared their schooling status with the county are eligible (and encouraged) to join us!
The school is also seeking additional varsity + junior high volleyball coaches. Call the main office if you are interested in coaching our incredible athletes.

The Alberton School District is in need of full-time elementary and high school paraprofessionals to support students with academic needs. The position involves working with special needs students in one-on-one or small group settings; taking directions from an immediate supervisor and administration; working cooperatively in a team setting with other staff and faculty.
Responsibilities may include recess duties, lunch supervision, Title I, Special Education, and duties as assigned. The candidate will be required to move from classroom to classroom as scheduled by our principal or sped teachers.
Qualities Needed: Reliable, Willingness to Learn. Ability to work with staff and students in a positive, cooperative manner, able to adapt to the unexpected.
The hours required for this position are 7:45 am-3:45 pm, Monday - Thursday.
Salary: Starting Wage $14/hr. + health benefits and retirement after 30 days.

When: Monday, 6/13-6/16 + Monday, 6/21-6/24
Times:
Basketball: 12-2pm
Volleyball: 2:30-4:30pm
Who: Alberton 5th-12th grade students

Volleyball: Mr. Odell + Kim Turner
With camps will concentrate on fundamentals, rules, game play and sportsmanship. The second week will include tournaments!

Hello, parents, guardians, students, and SUMMER!
Tomorrow is the final day of the 2021-2022 school year! While we will miss all of our amazing students, we are so excited for them to enjoy all the wonders that Summer in Montana brings.
Tomorrow's school day will end at 11:00am. Busses will run their regular routes as if it were a regular day.
We are pleased to be offering FREE breakfast and lunch for all kids. This program will run Monday-Thursday from June 20-August 11. Breakfast will be available from 9:30-10:30am and lunch will be available from 11:30-1:30pm. Please note that meals will not be served for the week of July 4th.
As always, we thank you so much for sharing your incredible kiddos with us. It is a true honor to teach and serve them each day, and we cannot wait to hear all about their summer adventures on the first day of the 2022-2023 school year, Wednesday, August 24th!

Attention, parents + guardians of Hiawatha Trail riders!
Our kiddos + teachers are nearly finished with their ride, which means they will not be at the school for end-of-day.
We are anticipating their arrival back to Alberton in approximately 2-2.5 hours.
Parents of bus riders are welcome to meet us at the school, otherwise, we will provide rides home for those who need it.

5th-8th Grade Band Parents!
Tomorrow is the last day to get in your permission slip for the Silverwood trip happening this Friday, June 3rd. Your student will be given the chance to perform a concert at the theme park in the morning and explore in the afternoon!
While we received tickets at half-price, we are asking that every family contribute $40 per child attending to cover the tickets, transportation and food. If you cannot cover these costs, please let us know.
The money can be given the Ashley in the office, cash or check. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided. Please send extra money with your child if they wish to purchase anything at the park.
Will begin loading the bus up at 7:00am on Friday morning and anticipate an arrival back in Alberton between 7:00-8:00pm.

We would like to share some quick information about tomorrow's Hiawatha Trail Trip.
-Students riding their own bikes will bring them to Mr. Crews at the trailer in front of the school.
-Students riding the trail tomorrow will need to eat breakfast upon arrival at the school.
-Busses will depart for the Hiawatha Trail at 8:15am. The school will work to have children back in time for the afternoon bus departure. If for any reason we are running behind, the school will transport kids home upon arrival back in Alberton.
We are so excited for this opportunity and cannot wait to share the experience with our amazing students.

Hello, Summer Break!
The last day of school is exactly two weeks away! We will miss all of our amazing students but are excited for them to enjoy the warm weather and all that summer in Montana has to offer.
The last day will be Thursday, June 9th and students will be released at 11:00am. Busses will run their regular routes after school.
We are also so excited to be running our summer program this year! A separate announcement with this information will be coming your way soon!

Attention Parents & Guardians of Kiddos Riding the Hiawatha Trail!
The Alberton School Shop Class will be holding a Bicycle Checkup + Tune Up Clinic on Thursday, May 26th beginning after lunch and running through the end of the school day.
If your child has a bike they'll be riding for the June 1st Hiawatha Trail trip, they can bring it with them to school tomorrow and we'll make sure it's ready for the ride of their lives!

The Alberton School Art Department seeks local artists willing to donate works of art to a silent auction to benefit the school's art department and its budding artists.
Works of art can be two or three dimensional--no size is too small or large (just make sure it can fit through the door)!
Donations must be brought to the school no later than the morning of Wednesday, May 25th to be featured in the auction during that evening's Spring Concert + Art Show.

Yesterday, a memo went out regarding the upcoming Driver's Training Program. The date for registration and the Parent/Student Meeting were incorrect. This message is to inform you of the proper information.
Students must be 15-years-old before January 1, 2023 to enroll. A $200 fee must be paid to the school office before Monday, May 23rd OR at the Parent/Student Meeting to be held at 7pm on Monday, May 23rd. All forms and fees will be due before or at this meeting.

This is a friendly reminder that our PK-6 graders will be participating in the Mineral County Health Department Fun Run. The fun run will take place in St Regis on Thursday, May 19, 2022. Buses will be transporting student to and from the event. Please remember to return a signed permission slip for your child's participation.
We’d like to give a big shout out to our incredible Alberton athletes who competed this weekend in track + field, and tennis!
Seniors Cy Bay + Silas Acker competed on the Superior boys’ track and field team who took 2nd place overall in the 14C district tournament. Freshman Georgia Fredette competed on the Superior girls’ team that took 1st place overall in the 14C district tournament. All athletes will compete this upcoming weekend in Divisionals in Frenchtown.
Our junior Molia Dao took 2nd place in the tennis doubles with her teammate Brooke Bibler, and they will move onto state in Bozeman next weekend!
We are so proud of all of our student-athletes! Give them all a round of applause!
