Al Manuel Memorial Scholarship

This is a $250 scholarship for a graduating senior who plans on attending either the University of Montana or UM Western in Dillon. Applicants need to write an essay that explains how they plan on using the scholarship, how important it is that you receive this scholarship and why it is important that you attend this University.


The recipient of the scholarship will be announced at the graduation ceremony.

Alberton Senior Citizen's Memorial Scholarship

Who is eligible:

Graduating seniors of Alberton High School who will be continuing their education at an accredited school of higher education in the State of Montana.


Amount: $500


Criteria:

  1. GPA must be 2.5 or higher

  2. A current transcript of your grades

  3. A personal letter explaining your relationship/association with Senior Citizens and their role in your life

  4. Two letters of reference from teachers, clergyman, employers or other persons you are acquainted with but not related to.


The recipient of the scholarship will be announced at the graduation ceremony.

Frank Kibbee Memorial Scholarship

Who is eligible:

Graduating seniors and previous graduates of Alberton High School, including those now attending a 4 year accredited college in Montana. You must be going into Education. This scholarship will be available for use at the second semester for first year students. If awarded to second year students or more, it will be available first semester.


Amount: $250

Critera:

  • GPA of 2.5 or higher

  • A current transcript

  • A personal letter explaining your goals and how you will use the scholarship

  • Two letters of reference from non-family members

Frenchtown Valley Kiwanis Club Leadership Scholarship

For Frenchtown and Alberton High School seniors. This $250 scholarship is offered to assist with post-secondary education. It is awarded based upon demonstrated leadership in the school and community. The award is also based on academic skills and grade improvement over the 4-year period of high school. Financial need for assistance at a technical school or four-year college will be considered also. The Board of Directors of the Frenchtown Valley Kiwanis Club will make the selection.

Must we used within 12 months of graduation.

Helping Hands Scholarship

This is a $1,000 scholarship for a graduating senior who plans attending a college, vocational, or trade school.


Applicant’s essay must include:

  1. Why they want to go to school

  2. Their financial needs

Mineral County Clerk & Recorder's Scholarship Application

Who is eligible: Graduating seniors who will be attending an in state school. $1000 for the first place winner and $500 for the second place winner. Application, transcript, and all required signature necessary for submission. Application includes two short essay questions.

Mineral County Community Foundation

The Mineral County Community Foundation (MCCF) is eager to award scholarships to selected members in Mineral County, Montana. MCCF is looking for senior students (12th-grade), past graduates, and one junior (11th-grade student) high school student who plan to further their education as an undergraduate student in an accredited university, college, junior college, or technical school/institute.


Three $500 scholarships will be awarded to high school senior students. One $500 scholarship will be awarded to a Mineral County junior student. One $500 scholarship will be awarded to a past Mineral County high school graduate.


In addition, one $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to a senior or past graduate in Mineral County who demonstrates overall excellence combined with a greater emphasis on community service.


The MCCF Board of Directors will select scholarship winners after ranking all applications received. To be considered, a senior must complete the application on or before February 14. Applications received after that date will not be considered.

Mineral County Conservation District Scholarship Program

The Mineral County Conservation District Scholarship is a new program sponsored by the Mineral County Conservation District, available to high school seniors that live within the Mineral County. Under the program, one scholarship in the amount of $1000 will be awarded to one (1) student in each high school within Mineral County.

Any graduating senior enrolled in a full-time post secondary education program in an accredited Montana college or university, or a full time two year vo-tech program may apply.

You will need to complete the applications section, provide an official copy of your transcripts from the most current year of school and proof of

enrollment in an accredited Montana college, university or vo-tech. Write a one-page essay about soil conservation and what it means for our State. Please include information about the 310 law that applies in our State for work along any water-way. Please provide three (3) letters of reference.


The Mineral County Conservation District will thoroughly examine all applications

Mountain Lodge #110 Scholarship

This $500 scholarship will be awarded to 3 graduating seniors from Mineral County. pursuing post-secondary education in accredited public universities, colleges, junior colleges and technical schools.

Requirements:

  • A typed personal letter summarizing your intended educational goals

  • Two letters of reference from non-family members

  • One letter of recommendation from a Master Mason, if possible

  • Current High School Transcript

  • A recent photograph suitable for publication in newspapers with name and school printed on the back.

TrailWest Bank Scholarship

TrailWest Bank is offering a $500 scholarship. In order to qualify for this award, please complete the following:


  • An essay on the student’s future educational goals

  • A list of academic and/or non-academic awards and achievements

  • A description of extra-curricular involvement

  • An explanation of financial need

  • Letters of recommendation from teachers, advisors, employers, etc

  • Grade point of class ranking not necessarily a factor in scholarship award


This application should be typed and double spaced. EFFORT WILL BE CONSIDERED BY THE TRAILWEST COMMITTEE FOR SELECTION OF SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS.

William Sears Scholarship

The scholarship will be awarded annually in an amount up to $5000 to graduating senior(s) of Alberton High School. The monies will be distributed based on college preparation, scholarship, community and school involvement, financial need, and dependability (character). The recipient must be planning to attend an accredited Technical School, University or Junior College in the United States.


Please turn in all supporting materials:

-2 sealed letters of recommendation from community members not related to the applicant. Please discuss character and dependability. Post letters to Alberton High School in care of the AHS Counseling Department or hand in directly. Persons can also email the counseling department directly if they are unable to mail or hand in letters in person.

-Essay: How do you view the world today? How have you contributed and how will you continue to contribute to make it a better place? Letter must be typed and all grammatical rules must be followed.

Women In Timber Scholarship

The scholarship will be awarded annually in the amount of $300.00 to a graduating senior at each of the three high schools in Mineral County. The recipient must be planning to attend an accredited Vo-Tech, University or Junior College in the United States.

The application must be completed, signed and returned with the following supporting data, which should be attached with this application:

1. Two letters of recommendation from teachers and two additional letters from community members, not related to the applicant.

2. A brief essay describing what Community Service means to the applicant and why it is important.


Scholarship payment will be sent directly to the financial aid office where the student will attend and distributed in equal semester installments,

Hank and Yvonne McKirdy Memorial Scholarship

This $200 scholarship is for seniors who plan to attend a trade school or university. Applicants need to submit a concise essay on his/her areas of study, goals and why these goals are going to benefit you, why they choose a particular field of study and the school they plan to attend. Include a copy of your transcript and three letters of reference not related to the applicant. The scholarship will not necessarily be based on grade point average. The family will choose the recipient.
