Greetings from the Counselor's Office at Alberton School! My name is Kara Morgan and I began working as a school counselor in 2003 and moved to Alberton School District in 2006. I was born and raised in Minnesota, but fell in love with western Montana during childhood visits here. I attended college at the University of Montana where I earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and English. In 2000 I began working on my Master's Degree and graduated from Winona State University where I earned my Master of Science in K-12 School Counseling. I went back to school at the University of Montana in 2008 and finished my educational endorsement in political science and currently teach Senior Government as well.

I am married to my husband, Zach, and we have a daughter who was born in January of 2020.

I look forward to serving Alberton students in the following areas:

Career & College Counseling-Much of my time is spent working with students on career/college planning. I handle testing (ACT/SAT//PSAT/ASVAB/Accuplacer), scholarship & award opportunities, financial aid, letters of recommendation, college visits, etc.

Academic Advising-I review transcripts to ensure students are on track to graduate. In addition, I help students develop a course plan and help them with class scheduling. I register students for Montana Digital Academy courses and Dual Enrollment courses as well.

Personal & Social Counseling-I am available for individual, group and classroom counseling. Students may referred by a teacher, parent or self for various reasons.
